What Did He Mean By That

So the other day I was making a store call and talking with on of my sales people. As I was leaving he asked a question that really took me by surprise. He asked if I were at least part Irish.

I said I didn't know, as I was adopted. I know the Italian but the rest is a mystery.

He said he's pretty sure I do, as I have some obvious traits.

Then he smiled and turned away. I asked what he meant, and he just smiled again and said he preferred not to say.

So........does anyone have any idea what he might mean by that? Are there stereotypical traits that I am unaware of?

Damn, I didn't know whether to thank him or smack him up side the head. Can you help shed any light?

Probably that thick Irish brogue of yours. I know you've been working on cleaning it up, but it's still pretty obvious :-)

I'm half Irish so it must have been a compliment. It's our charm, "to be sure" ;-)

You weren't drunk, were you? Just kidding. I agree with Koolaid. Sounds like a line to me. Never trust a guy who won't explain his comments.

Maybe it is your fair skin and the color of your hair. I have had more than one man look at me and immediately know I'm of Scots/Irish heritage.

Were you drinking and looking to kick his ass? :-D

Red hair, pale skin, drinking (as everyone else points out), temper and carrying a big stick. Those are all Irish and Scotish traits. I don't know about the big stick part, but from other posts I believe you qualify for 4 of those criteria. (and you can't tan away that Pale Irish Skin)

Oh I'm by no means fair. I get "pasty" without sun, but right now I've actually got some serious tan lines. After 1 afternoon in the sun I'm probably as dark as most northerners get all summer. :-) I love the sun!

But it could be the reddish tint to my hair and Bou pointed out my gift of the "blarney".

And if he was hittin' on me he was sooooo gonna strike out. Not even 5'8". :-)
