Saturday Question

I have to be honest with you......after embarrassing myself so bad with last week's question, I'm a little gun shy this morning.

But, I've never been one to back down from a challenge, so we'll give it the old college try.

So, the premise is to just take a moment and think of something that's either not so important or something that brings a smile on your face. A mini vacation as it were.

And I'm going at things a bit different this morning. Today, I'm not expecting any comments. BUT - I still want you to play along. If you wanna share - GREAT! But I really just want everyone to take a moment and....smile.

All that being said - here we go. For just a moment imagine the PERFECT Saturday morning. Go ahead. Close your eyes. Just imagine.

Mine would start out with a little "early morning delight". Then, snuggle in for a deep sleep. Only to waken because the sun peeks through the blinds. (To sleep past sunrise would be such a treat!)

Dress in my favorite lounging jammies and walk out to the kitchen. The clean, organized kitchen. There sits a pot of fresh brewed coffee. Just waiting.

Start in on a nice big breakfast. No guilt. Just good.

Spend the morning chatting and laughing and enjoying the crisp cool air out on the sun porch. Knowing there's nothing more pressing to do.

Look up at the clock and realize it's already noon.

The morning has flown by in a blur of "happy".

I know, corny as hell. But - to me that's just about the best Saturday morning I can imagine.

Now...it's your turn.

Waking up with several sets of little arms all over me.
I'd have to turn the clock back pretty far for that one.

It would have to start with seeing my husband in my bed with me. That delight thing and the snuggle thing would be good too. Then I would sit in my big chair reading a real newspaper filled with context-filled content while sipping piping hot coffee from a never-ending mug. My husband would be sitting on the couch reading the paper too and getting online to see what else was going on in the world. We'd talk about it all. Somewhere in there breakfast would magically appear. The doggies would be quietly lie at our feet or by our sides.

Yeah, that sounds pretty darn good to me. :)

Once I get the husband home (leave should be in 2 months), the hardest part will be getting that newspaper.

There's something about your particular fantasy morning that screams 'dating' to me, and I miss that terribly. Not that I don't enjoy being married, and I do love Arthur very much... but after awhile it's the same old same old. You can try to break out of the rut, but it's difficult.

I remember many mornings like the one you describe, and they were pretty dadgum wonderful.
Nice fantasy. :D

OK, I know you said to close your eyes but after a while I really had to cheat so that I could read the rest of the post... :o)

My perfect day is one spent with my family. We all enjoy each others company and there is absolutely NO arguing or tattling or poking amongst the offspring... Haven't seen it yet but hope springs eternal.
