On Saturdays I'll try to come up with some "out there" question that just makes you stop and think about something not so important. Think of it as a mini vacation. If you have any ideas drop me a line and we'll throw it in here. Who knows, it might be fun.
OK - Here goes: What is your favorite way to eat a banana?
Now I love banana creame pie. Oh, and nothin' is better than a slice of homemade banana bread still hot from the oven drippin' with butter. Of course you have to know I'm all about a little banana sliced in my cereal. Oh, and another favorite are those frozen chocolate covered banana's. Ohhhh. And we dare not forget sliced bananas on toast w/peanut butter and sugar! But my absolute favorite way to eat a banana? Just straight. I like them a little green and have a difficult time not eating them all the day I buy them at the store.
But - the one way I do NOT like banana's? I'm not fond of banana splits. I don't like ice cream and bananas - not one little bit.
So what about you? What's your favorite way to eat a banana???
Posted by Tammi at August 19, 2006 07:08 AM | TrackBackditto for me w/2 notable exceptions: I like my bananas yellow & sweet; and I also like them flambe, or if they're a bit green w/carmelized sugar or a thin layer of maple syrup glaze on top. Darn, you made me hungry.

Today is a friend's birthday, and I made him the perfect dessert. Since he's a major Elvis fan, I found a recipe on Food Network for an Elvis cake: peanut butter and banana. It was actually quite good.
Posted by: Sarah at August 19, 2006 09:06 AMI too am a green banana fan. We will go through 12 bananas in a day, and then no one will eat one for weeks.
I love bananas foster
banana bread
I do hate when they are over ripe...heck even ripe for that metter
banana pudding.
Posted by: sarahk at August 19, 2006 10:08 AMI only like bananas right out of the skin - period. I do eat them daily for the potasium, but I don't like them in anything else. I especially dislike banana bread... don't know why. It's the same with peanut butter - I'll eat that on sandwiches, but hate it cooked into anything like cookies or even in candybars.

Posted by: Lisa W. at August 19, 2006 02:15 PMHow do you defend yourself against an attacker armed with a banana?
Posted by: That 1 Guy at August 19, 2006 07:47 PMEasy. Get yourself a Trunk Monkey. Monkey's love banana's.
Posted by: BloodSpite at August 19, 2006 08:24 PMchocolate dipped frozen. Yummy.
Posted by: caltechgirl at August 20, 2006 12:54 AMWow. I love all things banana. Chocolate bananas, banana bread, banana sauteed with butter and cinnamon, plain banana right out of its very yellow peel (no green nanas for me), banana pudding, banana splits with hot fudge sauce, bananas and ice cream and nuts, bananas in strawberry jello... ummm... all bananas. they're GREAT.
Posted by: Bou at August 20, 2006 10:25 PMOh and Banana and Peanut Butter sandwiches!!!
Posted by: Bou at August 21, 2006 07:14 AMMy grandmother used to tell me that back in the day, is was customary for young ladies to only eat bananas using a knife and fork. They would peel them onto a plate, slice them into halves, then eat them a bite at a time.
As I understood her telling it, only monkeys and 'loose women' ate them right from the peel!
BTW, I like mine served chilled & sliced with strawberries and a sprinkling of sugar!
