How's that stupid song go?
"Oh what a night!"
Yeah - that sums it up pretty good.
I'd love to tell allllll about the evening - problem is I honestly don't remember too much. :-) I just know I had a really good time. Oh, and that I did keep my clothes on. That I'm pretty sure of.
We started out havin' a few cold beers at a bar on the water. Breeze was fantastic - scenery not so bad either. (Sometimes I just LOVE European men on the beach. I'm just sayin'.....)
After an incredibly good blackened grouper sandwich (the count is now 2) and a beautiful sunset we headed to our second stop.
Sharkey's. The last time I was there, well, I had a bit too much fun - thankfully that was a couple of years ago so I had a clean slate.
Oh, and let me just tell you, things haven't changed that much since I've been gone. No matter where we go, or what we do, bartenders just seem to LOVE Joyce and I. Those drinks at Sharkey's? Yeah - doubles (at least).
Finally made it back to her house. Pulled out the Captain and Diet and settled down on the lanai. Our favorite music playin' on the stereo, Joyce and I solving all our issues. Next thing we knew it was 3:00am. Holy Shit!! Happens every damn time.
This morning? She had to work a double at the resturant down by the beach. (As I write this I swear to goodness I can hear her cussin' me!) Me? I ran to Mickey D's for some grease and coffee. Got my suit on and headed to my piece of heaven. FINALLY - my feet in the sand. FINALLY - salt water. I snagged my favorite spot and just melted.
On the way to drop off the stuff I borrowed from Joyce I stopped at the store. Waiting in the line, the cashier is talkin' to the guy in front of me. About how they CANNOT eat McDonald's food. Too greasy. Then she looks at me and asks if I can eat it. I smile as I picture the wadded up bag on the front seat of the car and nod. Yep - but only when I'm hung-over.
Does that work? - the guy asks.
I just smiled even more and said...Every time.
Now I'm back at Cuz's. Sunkissed, and with sand in places I forgot sand could go. I can't stop smiling. I had a good week and a great couple of days.
Hmmmm I wonder where that Parrot Bay is???? I'm feelin' a little tropical this afternoon.....
