Holy Cow

I am shocked. Amazed even.

I mentioned earlier about my friends that are getting married in November. I'm still just tingly over the whole thing.

Well, she just called as asked me if I would sing at their wedding! Me. Tammi.

Now, yes, I've sung before. I was a music major in college and actually earned a full scholarship on my voice. But folks that was over 20 years ago. I smoke 2 packs a smokes a day, and haven't performed professionally in almost 20 years.

What's really amazing to me is the only time they've heard me sing is during drunken karaoke. And I do mean drunken.

Wow.

So, she's selecting songs now and will let me know what they want. Wow. Wow.

I'm so touched. I'm so honored.

I've got to start practicing.

I think I'll pre - empt Harvey, and pester you for a recording. If it's anywhere as good as your expertise on my dance - mat, you'll be sensational!

Oh they have audio blogging! We want to hear!!!

Tammi - you should... DOH! I've been pre-empted!

And if the audio file is too large, maybe you can sweet-talk brother _Jon into hosting it for you like he did for Johnny-Oh.

WOW!

That's great - Tammi!

So, what karaoke songs are in your repertoire?

Posted by: Kalamity at August 19, 2004 07:49 PM

For karaoke it all depends on what I'm drinking. Beer I'll go with some rock and roll (80's stuff). Capt & Diet - I'll go country (anything) Shots, watch out it's just ugly.

Honest I don't karaoke anymore. My voice is so not what it used to be, it actually upsets the hell out of me to hear myself. I know what it used to be and now it's not anywhere near the same.

I'm honored they asked me to sing, and I'm doing it because I love them both dearly - but it'll be one of the hardest things I've done in a long time, cause I know it won't be what it could have been. It's why I'm always preaching to appreciate and use the gifts you have - losing them is a bitch.
