One Dream Come True

A little while ago I did this MEME of 7 things.

One of the 7 things I want to do before I die is attend a Notre Dame home game. I know that sounds so petty, so shallow - but I'm serious. I've always heard that it's such an experience, impossible to explain.

I've been a rabid fan since I was about 7 years old. I grew up spittin' distance from the Golden Dome. Touchdown Jesus is my friend.

I've never been to a game. Never even had the opportunity.

Today...today I'm attending the ND vs Tennessee game. At Notre Dame.

The seats are in the north endzone. Right over the home team's tunnel. 26 rows up and 5 seats in.

Holy Shit.

I'm dragging T1G to the game with me. I really owe him big on this one - sick puppy that he is, he's still going!

I asked him the other day if he thought he was prepared to go to a live sporting event with me. He said he figures there is no way to even begin to prepare for something like that. He's more right than he knows.

I'm going to the ND game today. I'm going to watch them hand Tennessee their ass.

Today is a very good day.

Win or lose, this day will live forever in your memory. I remember the first time my father took me to Lambeau to see the Packer's play.

The excitement, the energy, the sheer awe of finally being in the stadium. It's an experience you only get once. I hope you cherrish every moment of it.

The grass will be greener, the hot dogs will be hot doggier, the beer will be colder, the fans will have more spirit, the day will be crisper.... And after checking the scores? 41 - 21? ORGASMIC. Congrats! (My Bostonian husband would accredit YOU, and YOU alone for such a grand win! You'll HAVE to go to every game, otherwise it's your fault, Tammi. your.fault. period)
;P
