It was very strange. I was sitting in my living room, a little before 8:00pm talking with Laughing Wolf tonite. We were just wrapping up the conversation.
All of a sudden I interrupt him....my house was shaking. Things on the walls, the glass doors. I told him it was "hurricane" shaking.
I knew we had some strong wind but this was different.
Yes - yes it was.
At 7:41pm an F18 was landing at McDill Airforce base in Tampa. The result was a sonic boom. They flew in over the Gulf of Mexico and it's believed that the weather contributed to the event.
Yep - I've experienced a sonic boom. It was pretty cool....once I knew what the hell was going on. I just wish I could have seen those puppies flying! Damn, now THAT would have been cool!
Posted by Tammi at March 11, 2005 11:24 PMPretty Awesome. My parents live where you can see the Blue Angels practice. So cool.
Posted by: vw bug at March 12, 2005 06:30 AMGlad to know it was that, and not something bad! :)
Posted by: Laughing Wolf at March 12, 2005 06:56 AMSpeaking of "puppies", what did your puppy do? Mine would have run for cover or piled themselves on top of me in fear!
Posted by: TNT at March 12, 2005 09:09 AMI live 2 miles as the crow flies from an airport that fighter jets often land at. Yep, they be real loud. The same airport every summer hosts a airshow, blue angles fly in it often. House shakes a lot during that week while they practice. They also have the stelth bomber fly over.
I love it every time! Just stand outside and watch them go by or run to the window a squeal like a little kid.
