You should know. You should know and be outraged.

Posted by: Richmond at February 2, 2008 10:16 AMBack in '67 when I was spending the Spring and Summer at the Oak Knoll Naval Hospital in Oakland there was a bar very near Berkeley owned by a WW2 Vet that wasn't too particular about checking ID if we were in uniform. Many of us teenaged and twenty year olds would go there on passes. But we had to wait at the bus stop in groups, the peace loving Berkeleyites would sometimes jump us if we were alone. Only if they were in groups, though. Seems that a Marine or Sailor was too much for one of them, even if in large amounts of plaster cast.
