Bad Timing

Mama always told me, no time is a good time to lose your temper.

I'm thinkin' she's one very smart lady.

It just dawned on me. You remember the story within the post from yesterday? Yeah, the one where I lost my temper big time? With our delivery guys?

Yeah....today......those same guys....... are delivering my bed. Here.

I'm thinkin' I probably won't get much help settin' that thing up. What do you think????

UPDATE: see it's not just the consumer that has issues with delivery services....I just called to discover my delivery was moved to Monday. They just forgot to tell me. Really, I feel your pain!!!

But...
Weren't you on the phone? Not in person? They didn't actually see you, did they?
Maybe they won't know who you are.
Unless they recognize the name on the order.

In that case, they'll show up four hours late.

Good luck.
Danged karma.

Oh to be that lucky Roses....

You see the plant sent an email telling them it's me. AND they don't ususally do home deliveries, only for sales exec's. That's me.

I'm the only sales exec in Illinois.

They know it's me. Yeah......it's gonna be a long day......

Tammi, just do what you do best, cook. Bake them some cookies or something and before they even say anything give them to the guys and explain that you had a very important customer listening in and you wanted to make a show for them... or soemthing like that. If you feel inclined to appologize do so.

If that doesn't work I'm sure you'll come up with something. I mean you are the mistress of mattresses.

Apologize, offer beer and food, in that order and they will do whatever you want them to do.

See if how they do, and if need be have a little talk with them. The 2x4 used to point at key items will help get the message across. :)

All the more reason these guys should be given the "shape up or ship out" talk.
No company can afford that.
If these guys are being petty, careless, and *stupid* like that then they are risking the very survival of the company.

No restaurant manager would tolerate a waiter who fails to deliver a meal on time or dilly-dallies while the food gets cold. Nor should you.

The country has a less than 5% unemployment rate. They can be easily replaced by people *willing* to work.

In my opinion (and it's only that) I would make sure the delivery company either shapes up or ships out.

You already know how they treat the customer, and now they're doing the same to you...Only smacking them upside the head with the +40 Hammer of Clue (thanks Grau) will help.
