Pork is the enemy

Oh. My. Goodness.

I saw this over at BlondeSagacity this morning.

One ham sandwich = Hate Crime?

"Ham is not a toy"

I can't even begin to express my...disgust? Outrage? Frustration?

Oh hell, pick a word - or combination of them. That might BEGIN to express my thoughts.

And I can promise you - my house would be considered a temple of satan, with all the pork I serve.....

Go. Read it. Follow the links.

What in the HELL are we doing??!?!?!?!

Tammi, I read the original article- twice. Honestly, I think it is a satire piece.

Oops. UPI has it too, so I'll clarify- the Associated Content article is satire, but the incident was apparently real.

Sadly, while the sandwich part is apparently satire, the fact is that placing a ham steak on the table is being treated as a hate crime.

Mmmmm... Ham. :-)

Honest to goodness, I didn't know WHAT to think.

I'm at work (so I'm sneaking peeks) but it's not outside the realm of probablity (sorry about spelling).

If it is satire? Thank goodness. But if it isn't? Yeah, just sickening....

Good god. The piece to which aLa refers in her post is a satire. It's all made up. She, apparently, did not see the humor.

If Muslims had not already demonstrated their propensity to get violently offended about Just About Every Damn Thing, then the piece would have fallen flat. But it takes a believeable premise (offended Muslims, apologetic Westerners) and pushes it way beyond reality. Me, I thought it was funny...because it contains just that grain of plausibility.

Sadly I heard this reported as fact on the radio this morning.

Fox News even picked it up on the morning show.
