Advertising Falls Flat

In case you missed 'em, here is a link where you can watch the ad's from last nights game.

I have to tell you, I was rather disappointed overall. I mentioned the Snickers commercial in my Thoughts post. ewwwww. Whoever put that out there REALLY wasn't thinkin'. There may well be a few boxes packed this morning. I've seen it happen before.

Now, there were some that I did enjoy. But the marjority? Yeah, not so much.

The only one I liked in the first quarter was the Go Daddy spot.

In the 2nd Quarter - I laughed out loud at Dorito's Live The Flavor. Oh, and the Budweiser Spot Wink was cute. Also, I got a kick out of the Sprint Broadband ad, but it just didn't "close the deal". It was funny, I could relate, but it just didn't have that PUNCH.

Third Quarter - Budweiser's Great Apes did get a chuckle out of me. As well as the Bud Light Axe spot. I loved the CareerBuilder spot. Gotta tell you, those were my favorites over all.

Forth Quarter - the only ones of notice, as far as I was concerned were again the Go Daddy and the Career Builder.

Budweiser and Coke all put some effort into what they put out there. Cokes just fell flat as far as I was concerned and Bud, while cute, not on a level we've seen before.

They tried some different things this year, contests and such to get folks excited again. But I'm thinkin' it really didn't work they way they wanted.

That's two years in a row now that there hasn't been any real OUTSTANDING ads that folks will be talkin' about. Damn it! It's such a shame.

That is what I was saying to Mr Weenie last night. The commericals sucked.

There were a couple that made me giggle but nothing that just made me gafaw like in the past.

Very disappointed because the commericals are the only reason I watch the Super Bowl.

Budweiser's are usually the best, but it's almost like they didn't put their hearts into any of their commericals.

I liked the Career Builder stuff. (I especially like the one where they all jumped off the cliff like lemmings and the Gladiatorial combat one)

But over all, yea, nothing really awesome

the only one I like was the Ford Truck F-150 commercial right at the beginning for 2 reasons: I got to see some really cool cgi effects & I got to see every single part of a truck BEFORE its put together. I have always wanted to see a car being put together & now I have.

huh. i thought godaddy's sucked more than anyone's, and Bud Light and careerbuilder and Emerald Nuts were probably my favorite. godaddy? really? huh.

i know i'll probably be called a racist, but i really felt like if Coke had put less time and money into black history month ads, they might have come up with something that everyone would talk about today. i mean, i get it. 2 black coaches, 1st time ever ever. i think everyone knows by now. but how many black history ads did they need? a bajillion was a bit overboard.

I really liked the Bud Light Paper-Rock-Scissors commercial, that actually made me laugh. The snicker's commercial made me and everyone else in the room swear to never eat a Snickers again. The GoDaddy was amusing, but they had been so much better in the past. I agree with SarahK on the Coke commercial.
