Pissed does not begin to cover my mood right now.
And before you ask, yes I am still in St. Pete.
Seems Lana doesn't want to leave. At all.
I called the dealer and got a bit of run around. Oh, I'm not done with them yet, but I just don't trust them to fix her at this point. At. All.
So - once we get her going, I'm heading to my beloved new nephew's place. You see, he is a very talented mechanic and has mucho experience with these cars. He will check it out and we will get everything taken care of. THEN I will be on the road for good. I have every confidence in him. Hell, after a few days in my company I'm SURE he wants me out of this state.
THIS does NOT make me happy.
UPDATE: Well, Lana is just not cooperating. I just called a tow and they are taking me back to the dealer. I can tell you this much - he will NOT be happy to see me. Yeah, let's just leave it at that. So - I'm off to the garage. If you hear of any explosions down this way, it's either my head exploding or me losing my temper with these jerk wads......
Posted by Tammi at January 3, 2007 09:16 AM | TrackBackAt this point, with problems that big I would make them take the car back and get something else, from a different dealer. This dealer doesn't sound on the up and up and most states have a 30 day take back law.
If this is a GM dealer I would contact GM CSC and report him. Sounds like he knew something was wrong with this vehicle. Most states make the dealer carry a 90 day warranty and make sure they did the 120 point inspection also. Ask to see that.
And since it's a GM (if this isn't a GM dealer) go to a GM dealer and have them run the warranty information on this vehicle (can be done with the VIN) and see what it's been in for in the past.
Posted by: Quality Weenie at January 3, 2007 10:24 AMit's because you named her Lana. it's my fault, really. see... i wasn't around your blog for a couple of weeks, so i wasn't here for the naming. i would have vehemently protested you naming her Lana. because of Lana Lang. of Superman fame (please tell me you named her after Lana Turner and not Lana Lang). Smallville's Lana is among the most annoying characters of all time. every week i sit there saying, "Lana, why won't you just die?"
and i hope that your car didn't hear me and thing that i was directing my death wishes at her. i apologize. it's all my fault.
and i recommend duct tape for the head explosions.
Posted by: sarahk at January 3, 2007 11:19 AMOh good grief! Make them make it right, Tammi. :-(
Posted by: Richmond at January 3, 2007 03:58 PMUPDATE: Supposedly, I have the permissions to post on this blog, but I don't. I think it's a trust issue...
Anyway, Tammi finally got off and running. Turned out it wasn't that big of a problem. Seems that 59 cents of gas just doesn't last as long as it used to. And here I was thinking the air was low in her tires.
Seriously, it was the battery being loose. I don't know if it was the cables, that were loose, or the battery itself had gotten out of its pasture. Either way, she be rolling now.
Posted by: That 1 Guy at January 3, 2007 05:16 PMthat's good to hear. Thanks for the update, T1G!
Silly Lana. Sounds more like Lana Turner than Lana Lang.....
Posted by: caltechgirl at January 3, 2007 05:53 PMAt least it's working now.
Posted by: Contagion at January 3, 2007 06:24 PMTammi,
Long story short... I sent you a note when you posted you were getting a used GM product. If your vehicle is still under warranty (under 36,000 miles) and you need help, I will do everything I can. I work at corporate in Detroit. I will still do everyting I can if it is not under warranty. I do not work in promotions or anyting else. I just want to make the AMERICAN product you bought right! I just read this at 0100/04. I can speed up parts that will blow you mind... I won't be checking e-mail until late tomorrow. Let me know if I can help. PS. I would need the engineering part number, they will know what that means...
Tammi,
I was going to offer you my wrecked Dodge Intrepid out in Tulsa. Sure it's missing a window on the driver's side, but you'd be sure to stay awake.
Glad you made it back on the road.
