Start Prayin'

Well shit.

I don't watch the local news. But I do listen to the radio on the way to work in the morning.

Today they had a little surprise for me. 3"- 12" of snow between noon today and tomorrow morning.

3" - 12".

Of Snow.

In less than 24 hours.

That constitutes a winter storm advisory.

Maggie May isn't fond of those road conditions during the best of times. With less than a month til retirement she's REALLY not happy.

If you're a pray-er start sayin' a few for us now. I'm hopin' for 3". I can deal with 3". Maggie can deal with 3". 12"? Yeah, not so much.

Oh well, I can't complain. It's the last day of November and this is the first we've seen of this kind of weather........

Even with 4WD, I dread this, because in the interim since our last snowfall, everyone forgets how to drive. You see more people in the ditches out of sheer stupidity than anything else.

oh...I feel a rage coming on...

Tammi,
I spoke to my co-workers in Tulsa today. Nobody came in; they were all at home. Ahead of that 3-12" of snow was 3 inches of sleet. Perfect winter storm. Woo hoo!

YEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEESS! KACHING!

(Does happy dance)

Time to bust out the sleds for the kids...

awe, you actually made me miss illinois! isn't that cute?

prayers your way though. that's a long commute every day. keep an emergency kit in your trunk just in case. i mean it, i'm a mommy, and i won't sleep until i know you have a shovel, a blanket and some granola in that trunk. you hear?

Oh, and don't forget blackberry brandy! The anti-venom for snow snakes.

Yeah, grau's doing a happy dance and me, if we get what they're calling for I'll be shaking in my boots heading to work in the morning. First snowfall of the year people tend to forget how to drive in this weather and are complete idiots.

Oh yuck! I am praying you don't get ANY of it...

Posted by: Bou at November 30, 2006 06:47 PM

WIMP! Bring on the snow! 2-3 feet!

Posted by: Contagion at November 30, 2006 07:54 PM

Hell yes!

The freezing ass wind, however, can be done any time and I would be cool with that (starting to regret the really short hair now).

Whoops, last comment was from me...

I can only laugh at such predictions. 3 to 12 inches. If that's not a total and complete guess, I don't know what it. 12 is 400% of 3. They can't guess any closer than that? That's like asking a doctor, "What's the chance this surgery might kill me?" and getting an answer of, "Oh, somewhere between 1 and 99%."

Just laugh at the weathermen, they seriously have absolutely no clue.

If I didn't have to shovel the crap, I'd love it! If I had a snowblower, I'd be in heaven...

I like driving in it, sicko that I am. I know how. Just dodge the jackasses in their 4x4's.

(you know, the ones who think having 4-wheel drive helps them to *stop*?! On sheets of ice?!)

I volunteered for a Chicago run, leaving Rockford around 3pm today. Normally a 4 hour job, it'll take from 6-8 today, just from the moron factor from people who forget how to drive in the snow from year to year.

Rush hour AND bad roads.... WTF have I done... ;-)
