Couple of Questions

How is it possible that I can sit at a computer for an hour last night, another hour this morning and have NOTHING?!?! Add in 3 or 4 hours of driving with nothing to do but think.....and not an inkling of a post in mind. Nothing that is burning to be shared. Nada.

So - it's the holiday season. I didn't do a Saturday Question of the day - let's try a combo on this Tuesday.

2 Questions

What is the BEST gift you've ever gotten for Christmas?

And what is the #1 thing you'd LIKE to get for Christmas this year?

I'll answer when I can actually form a coherent thought.

**Update/Finish 7:30pm: Ok - I'm thinkin' now. I don't know how coherently, but I am thinking.

My favorite gift: Well, hands down the Christmas Daddy's friend gave me his old mandolin blew me out of the water. It's still my most treasured possession. But as far as actual presents go, my favorite are the cowboy boots my sister bought me about 12 years ago. I still have them. The sides blew out last year and I can't wear them, but I won't get rid of them until I find the proper replacements.

As for this year....that's tough. I love surprises. Actually, I love figuring the surprises out, but anyway - I don't usually say what I want, I just enjoy knowing I was thought of. BUT - I do have a passion for jammies, and they've got some killer comfortable ones at the Tall Girl Shop. AND a beautiful plum colored suit. Oh, and a set of pots and pans would be nice..... hehehe. Damn - reading back over that, I look pretty darn carnal. But - I'm all about bein' who I am, so there you have it! The good, the bad and the greedy.

The bes thing I ever got was a sewing machine from my parents about 18 years ago. Still have it, still use it.

And this is stupid, but what I REALLY REALLY want this year is one of those sealing slow cookers. Hamilton Beach has convinced me that my life will be complete if I don't have chili slopping all over the Exploder.

The best Christmas present? probably when I was a kid, when I got my first bike. I wanted one sooo bad and then I got one. Or when my hubby took me to New York for a whole day and surprised me with Les Mis tickets in the evening and we ate lunch next to Al Franken and his kids at the ESPN Zone and the Hubby said, hey, that's Al Franken and I said, probably a little too loudly - "Who the hell is Al Franken? Ohhh, that gay guy from SNL?" Yep. I did-I didn't know who he was then, and Al Franken just sorta looked at me. *snicker*

I'd like to get a new job for Christmas this year. Is that an appropriate gift?

my favorite gift was an art set, with oli paints, pastels, and charcoal, paper, brushes, and a how to book.

I was 9.

It was the best gift ever.

Wait, wait -- you people get gifts? All I ever get is coal.

Best singular gift: Pink and white houndstooth coat when I was 20. Princess seams, perfect fit. Loved it!

This year I want a double boiler and a copper stockpot. Maybe some more Le Creuset stuff. And of course some bling bling...

Best gift - A Christmas letter from my husband while he was deployed. Came on Christmas eve, so the timing was perfect. Rarely does it work out that way.

What I want this year - That GPS gadget (Garmen, I think it's called) that gives you directions. Driving in Washington is often dicey....
