I'm Being Held Hostage

Yipee. (not)

I just left the house for the first time today. Went down to the diner for breakfast and then out to the storage unit to get my winter things.

Oh. My. Goodness.

My door (and as it happens the entire side of the apartment) is covered in box elder bugs. COVERED.

I can't get in or out without letting the suckers in the house. And they flippin' swarm when I open the screen door.

I blame THIS GUY!!

Didn't see a single one til he posted that damned bug story of his. Now? EVERY WHERE!!!!

So - I'm going to try and make my escape for the afternoon. Maybe I'll stop by the hardware store to see if they have anything to get rid of these damned bugs!!!!!! This is worse than when I lived in Florida!! Guess I'll have to start sleeping with my earmuffs on.....

Box elder bugs? Anything like a ladybug, but usually orange and bite? Bleeping things were swarming down here today, kept biting me as I was up on a ladder -- I was not amused but think Jenny was entertained by the antics...

No, the ladybug-ish ones are Japanese beetles (bastards suck majorly). Box elder bugs are harmless (no biting), just annoying.

The best way to keep them away, no shit, is CS tear gas.

Granted, it's not easy to come by (ask me no questions and I'll tell you no lies) but the stuff lingers and they didn't come back for three years when I fumigated the side of my folks house as a kid....

Actually, come to mention it, a liberal application of CS tear gas keeps all kinds of annoying things away.. dogs, cats, bugs, Jehova's Witnesses....
