I've had a lot of emails from folks wantin' to know about the job.
It's good. It's gonna be challenging. It's exactly what I wanted - and then some.
Right now things are slow. Duh. I'm in training for cryin' out loud AND my boss is gone for a couple of weeks. But the people I work with? Yeah, I like 'em alot.
Oh, it's got issues. But what job doesn't. I think I'll probably be traveling a bit more than I wanted to - at least for a while. And I know July is bookin' up fast. There's even talk of a trip to New Jersey. But I may mix a little pleasure into that one and see if I can hook up with a certain musician I know....wink wink.
I'll be honest - I'm still adjusting to the commute. I really don't mind it most times, and I know I'll get adjusted again. Hell - my days are still shorter than when I was at Trop or Simmons. It's just I was such a lazy slug for 4 months.....
I have a trade show coming up in late July. THAT is all blog fodder. I know - I used to work them all the time. And let me tell you folks....I'm pretty good at a trade show. The secret is to wear cute but comfy shoes. 12 hours on your feet can kill a girl. But I just love those shows. Always good for a laugh or 50.
So while I learn the ropes and bide my time it seems my role has become, yet again, the entertainer. And that's ok. It's kinda nice having people around who haven't already heard my stories. And it's VERY nice to laugh a lot.
And I do. Even on the rough days - I have found a reason to laugh.
I sooo made the right choice. I'm sure of it.
