My Mother's Daughter

Hrmph.

My mother has agreed to a stress test. That's done, just waiting for the results.

She's having a cat scan to check for clotting in the lungs.

Then she is checking herself out of the hospital.

I am less than pleased.

She is intent on getting on the plane and flying home tomorrow - no matter what anyone says.

I'm down right pissed about that.

But....nothing I can do about it. I almost understand. She's stubborn, independent and self sufficient. Kinda like another woman I know. One I see in the mirror every day.

So.....she is feeling better. That is good. She looks better. That is good. Is she better? We don't know for sure.

But I do know she hasn't lost any of the mule-headedness.

I guess I am my mother's daughter.

shoot me now.

You should know what her diagnosis is before she flies. heart or blood pressure issues (extreme) can be complicated by flying. maybe you need to handcuff your mom to a lawn chair?

ARG!!! What Kat said! Especially since flying scares her too. What's a little extra stress though when you have all those pressure changes... Is there a wall nearby where I can bang my head???

Agree with the above, but if she insists on flying, get them to give her something to help with the stress. Yes, she need to take a "chill pill" to avoid having stress do more than the pressure and other changes are going to do. Good luck! May go bang my head against the wall too.

Maybe have the doctor say that she can't fly...and alert the airline. She'd be pissed as hell, but it may be a smart pre-caution...

Ahh yes, my mother went on something wonderful for her stress just two day ago. I get your frustration! Do what you can; it's all you can do.

(And you really don't mind turning out a bit like her do you? Yeah, I see through that. : D)

Nothing wrong with mule-headed women.

Hell, I married one :-)

Accept no substitutes.
