Yeah, This is my territory UPDATED

I had heard about this story over the weekend, but didn't hear the details.

6 people between the ages of 18 and 34 were found beaten and or stabbed to death (or both) in Deltona FL. over the weekend. The "main" target of the attack, a 22 year old woman, was beaten so badly even dental records could not assist in identifying her.

You want to know why these 6 people were killed? Hmmm? Well it seems these 4 losers - 1 27 yr old and 3 18 yr olds - were squating in the vacation home of the main targets grandparents. She showed up one day found them, called police and they were removed. They left behind some clothes and an X-box. Erin Belanger, 22, removed the items and took them to the home she shared with roommates. The freeloaders returned several times to the vacant lot, contacted Erin and threatened to beat her with a baseball bat and even went to their home and slashed their tires.

So here's my question. Why were these worthless sons of bitches even out after the string of threats and damage? And over a f*cking x-box?!?!

I'm at a loss. Completely. I don't understand the thought process of the bastards that did this. I don't understand why the police didn't do more. I just don't get it.

And, of course the article includes a family member of one of the SOBs saying that they can't believe the child did this. There was no evidence of violent behavior, it must be they fell into the wrong crowd. STFU!!!! Someone is not this violent on a spur. Nope, and I'm sure someone thought Jeffery Dahmer was a real sweetie too.

Damn, this just really distresses me. Not to mention I'm headed to this lovely town in 2 days to make calls. Hmmmm...I know how it works in rock paper scissors - does a gun beat a baseball bat?

UPDATED 8/10/04: Commentor Mark leads me to Bryan Strawser's post on a follow-up of this story. Seems the Probation Officer and 3 supervisors have been fired. Go, read the details! Thanks Mark! I owe ya!!!

You're reading my mind again, girlfriend. I just finished reading that article in my newspaper and was thinking about blogging on it as I was so repulsed. I've been reading it every day since it broke. You know it's bad bad bad when they say crime scene took over 18 hours due to all the violence and aftermath.

There are more victim's than this... there are the cops that found them and have had to deal with this mess. Honestly, they have been damaged too, the whole lot of them, having had to deal with some of the worst sick bastards evil of humanity.

This is where that Southern term comes in handy. "They need killin'" Plain and simple. I hope they get themselves a hangin' judge and jury.

The death penalty was made for people like this.

I lived in Deltona for a few years; it's a little bedroom community.
Wow.

:(

Yes...a gun will beat a bat and frankly, that's why I own one and know how to use it. There are too many messed up people in this world.

We had a weird breaking and entry thing going on in my neighborhood. You know, the kind where they come in while you're at home? Right after that, we had two rapes in the general area.

My brother, who is in the military, offered me a pistol and I took it. I knew how to shoot, but frankly, until that time, I had always considered a home gun just a tad over kill (no pun intended), but after those incidents (and I live in a fairly affluent area), I decided protection is the best rule of thumb.

One of the issues with our justice system, meant to protect people like you and me, is that they can't just pick people up if there were no actions or proof. They don't work like that movie "The Minority Report", in which people are predicted to make actions and taken out before hand.

But, I think it is likely that these people had criminal tendencies anyway. Me, I don't care what is going on, I don't think I could join into some group beating or violence, just because the group is doing it, no matter what the provocation (and believe me, I there were a few people over the years I felt like beating). That is just an alien action and thinking to me.

A gun beats a bat but only if'n you kind of mash on that little curved dingus that comes out the bottom of it.

I was out west when I heard about this, and the first thing I thought of was you and Boudicca. What your reactions were and such.

When I first saw the news, they wouldn't say what had happened, other than it was the worst they had seen. The guy interviewed (I think it was Johnson) looked like he was in between rage and crying.

That crap about Hunter being a good kid is just that... CRAP! No way in hell that you suddenly become a brutal murderer simply by being in company of a "wrong crowd."

How they can let someone like Victorino slip through their fingers is unreal. The man has a record. He keeps screwing up. End probation. Back to prison. Sounds simple, that must be why nothing was done.

Yep, every time. With the right gun, it can even out club a baseball bat every time. We really do need to get you to the range here soon...

Boudicca is right. There are more "victims" than just the souls who had their lives stolen from them. There is the officers who responded to the scene, the person who actually discovered what happened when a co-worker didn't arrive for work and there is their families and friends left behind to cope with this ordeal.

And it just keeps getting worse. On the news this morning, there is now an investigation as the ring-leader for this murder was wanted and police missed 3 crucial opportunities to have picked him up...including (are you ready) the day before the killings took place!

To me that is the ultimate injustice. Knowing that it could have been avoided and did not have to happen at all. How you can live with that?

That's what I love about the state of Texas, (to quote Ron White), while everyone else is putting up a pause button, Texas is putting in an express lane to the execution!

Prayers and sincerest sympathy to the family and friends on all sides. You are left to live out the aftermath of what these children have done to other children.

What I thought was horrible when the whole story was breaking news the news kept saying that the victims stole the xbox and clothes from the murderer, making the murderer a victim.

The news was almost making it sound like it was justified. I just hate watching the news much anymore.
