I saw on FOX News last night where there is now a website www.draftditka.com trying to get ex Chicago Bears coach Mike Ditka to run for Senate after Jack Ryan withdrew. (BTW - in my mind his time in New Orleans will never count. Never.)
You're probably wondering what this Florida girl is doing watching that story. Two reasons really. 1) I watch everything - didn't you realize that?!? 2) I was a Bears fan for years and years and years. If it weren't for getting married that year - 1985 would be the happiest time of my life!
Anyway - I'm just sitting here thinking about Ditka in the Senate. Senator Ditka. Da Senator.
Seriously, I don't know if he has the temperment for it. I haven't had a chance to read his position on issues. I do know he has stated his willingness to run (Chicago Trib. subscription required).
My imagination runs wild. Just remembering him on the sideline - screaming at McMahon, wonder how that would go over in the Senate?
It'll be interesting to watch that's for sure.
