We're supposed to get 2 days off each week. I usually get Sundays. Sometimes not as it may be the only day a store can fit me into a meeting. I also TRY to take Mondays - either off or as an Office Day. Haven't been able to do that for a while now. Either way - if you don't take your chosen day "off" you lose it. No matter what anyone says, it's too hard to just take a day when you work in a world that is open 7 days a week.
Today is no different. Now I'll admit I did wake up a bit confused. I had it in this brain of mine that I needed to meet with a new client today. After getting up and slamming thru the "wake-the-hell-up" routine I looked in my handy dandy black book and realized it's Wednesday. Yipee!!!! Office day for Tammi.
I couldn't justify a day off completely as I'm just way behind in my paperwork. So office day it is. Nice, since I'm home and can work on that months backlog of laundry and take breaks now and again to putter or hang something on the wall.
But nooo.... The force is against me it seems. After realizing I can take an office day, and getting back into my comfy clothes I get a call telling me I have a fire on the far side of Orlando (almost to Daytona) that needs attention. NOW.
I'm really fighting to get my territory under control. I don't want to be running in circles putting out fires. Thats just not productive. Besides, we have "fire days" that we keep in reserve just for this type of thing. TODAY IS NOT SUPPOSED TO BE A FIRE DAY!!! I don't want to get in my car. I don't want to drive anywhere. I don't want to smile, be nice and eat crap. No No No.
Whew - I feel a bit better now. So anyway - it's almost 2:00. Will be re-dressed and on the road by 3:00. As long as I'm there by 5:00 they will be happy. And heaven knows it's important they're happy. (sorry, feeling just a bit sarcastic this afternoon).
UPDATE: Like it's breaking news or something - geez girl, getta life! Anyway - I love telephones. Love Love Love. Called this customer, had a little talk - end result I'm back in my comfy clothes and will stop in when I'm in the area tomorrow. Yeah!! Yeah!! Yeah!! It really is my territory. Really. (I feel like that old commercial for Burger King. Have It Your Way!)
I have no idea what happened during this day, but it ends with you being happy, so that makes me happy, too :-)
