Put it out there...

OK - I'm hitting a blank wall here.

I'm looking for a job back in consumer products. It's what I do best of all.

All my contacts are in Bentonville and Florida. I'm sunk here in Northern Illinois. I got nothin'.

I've sent my resume to my old broker team (hence the offer in Bentonville) and they are looking for me in this area. I've googled like crazy but can't find anything but European companies. If I thought a cross country move was out of the question - this? No. And No again.

I've contacted my recuriters, but they don't have anything outside of NY or Florida.

So - here's what I need from y'all. Any of you that deal with consumer products, retail execution, ect. If you know of anyone that might possibly have any openings in the Rockford/Milwaukee/West Suburbs of Chicago let me know. It's two hours all around and that is a managable territory.

I just have no contacts up here. For the first time I don't even know where to start.

I'm telling, put your resume up on Monster.com and you will have recruiters calling from all over trying to find you a job.

I've had mine up on mosnter for 2 weeks now and have had 7 recruiters call wanting to find me jobs.

It doesn't cost nothing and it can't hurt anything. Recruiters are constantly crusing monster looking for fresh resumes.

Try the Heinz food company. They have stuff in Chicago. Try Accor, I'm not sure if they have any consumer products though. Try ATS (spinoff of the Caterpillar brand) and Caterpillar, Avon (the corporation) is in Morton Grove, IL. That's all I've got!

I agree with Machelle. i use Monster and CareerBuilder regular both as a resource and for job hunting. Your not going to find a better resource on line than those 2.

You might also try McDonald's Corp. -- located in Oak Brook. The Naperville/Aurora area's got a lot of big companies, too. I'll keep an ear pressed firmly to the ground...

There is Nestle' in DeKalb that you could try, I did hear recently they were hiring, and there is also RadioWorks here in Rockford, they are hiring for sales.

I agree with Monster. Sign up with them. I'll ask my husband which ones he used and I'll keep my ears to the ground for others.
