Sputter Start

You know what a sputter start is, right? When things just ain't connecting, the cylanders are just not firing right?

Yeah - that's me in the mornings lately. Very strange.

Take today for example. Last night I went to bed at a decent time. 10:00pm. I have always been a night owl so this whole sleep before midnight thing has only been since I've moved up here. Anyway - 10:00 and I'm snuggled down drifting off to Neverland.

I hear the coffee pot at 5:15am. The alarm goes off at 5:30. I hit the snooze for - A FLIPPIN' HOUR!!! WTF is up with that?!?!?!?!

Many mornings my cousin calls and we chat for about 45 mins. But I'm still usually sleeping when she calls. If she doesn't call - it turns into what happened today.

I'm missing my favorite part of the day! For NO reason.

The Tammi I know is usally up WITHOUT the alarm - no matter what time she goes to bed. The Tammi I know can hardly wait until the coffee is done before she is BOUNDING out of bed.

This is really screwing with me. I have said several times how I love routine. I'm a very routine oriented person. And my most precious routine is my wake up.

I need those 2 hours before I leave for work. It's a little bit of sanity before I lose all control. I don't know why this change in me - but damn......I'm really not too happy about it.

And the first person that leaves some "age" crack in the comments..............

You might consider getting an alarm that wakes you to light. It could just be because of winter and the move messing with your internal clock.

It may well be a light issue, not enough of it during the day. Get a sun bulb and use it in the living room. As for age crack, that is not what you need. You need youth and light crack.

You know I'm going to say a WORD about age- honest, honey, it's the winter cycle. The nned to hibernate. To see some sunshine.

you mean "sputter start" in the morning is abnormal....frankly I am a sputter start every morning....must have coffee....must have it....

I am not a morning chipper-ass gal....

I don't know... I heard that crack stuff was pretty bad. I would stay away from it too.

Age... what's age got to do with it? I've been like this my entire life - yes even as a child... unless I was born old - could be.

Age, Smage. Sometimes it's hard to get up. Especially if getting up means going to work, which means it sucks to get up. So there. I don't hate my job, but I hate getting up to go to it!

Aww shucks! Didya miss me?

It'll change come March/Mid-March. Trust me, I'm a transplanted southerner stuck up here too. Winters suck. I could not for the life of me understand why a bear would hibernate, until I had to live up here. Now, it's obvious.... You ain't missin' a damned thing, so there is nothin' to do but sleep until the Sun, and blue skies come back in the spring.

You'll be back in shape in no time at all once you get back on the good side of Mother Nature's clock.

Part of it may be that you're not looking forward to your job, which makes sleep and the snooze button VERY attractive.
