Public Service Announcement

It's funny. When I go through my "received calls" list on my phone - 99.9% of my personal calls are from bloggers. How very cool is that.

So I figure I'll just save time and make this announcement here.

My cell phone has been cancelled. My boss gave the number out to a bunch of my customer - so I get business calls on my personal cell phone. I am not being reimbursed for that. Not making me happy.

Also - I only get a signal for about 20 mins a day - over by work. Why on earth am I paying for a cell phone without a signal?

So - I turned it off. Just forgot to tell anyone. And I'm not getting another one until after the move. Too much going on.

I'll let y'all know how to get 'hold of me. I just didn't want you to worry.

Heh.
I've made it very clear to my co-workers that my cell is for them, not to be printed on the "list" that goes around. And the latest "emergency contact list" didn't even include me. Good sheeple. But it took a long time before I let anyone at work know my cell number.

I got a call from a buddy today to tell me he had a new cell number. His ex wouldn't stop bugging him.

My Treo has a program I installed that allows me to put any number of numbers into a "block" list. They phone will ignore any number that I put on that list.

Back at work - they shut off my voice mail because I didn't receive an vm's for a month. I do everything through e-mail because it has to be documented (S/Ox). Then they shut off my phone because I hadn't made a phone call in 90 days. Then they put someone else at my desk and packed my stuff into boxes and put them in storage because they needed the space and I spent 99.995% of my day in computer labs.

Meh. I don't care. I'd rather spend my time in a large room with 20+ computers, a music player, a locked door and a dedicated air conditioner that I control. It's a trade-off, but I'll take it. Over the past 6 months I've begun using the corporate IM software and that works really well.

Writing of which, would you please get Yahoo! Instant Messenger? my e-mail is my ID and it's tied to my Treo. We can chat anytime that way. Y'all at your PC and me on my phone. This comment goes to all of my BEF relatives. Come on - be a dork like me.

My work knows I have a cell phone, and that I wont give them the number. Just for the reasons you stated above.
