Time Warp

I'm going to Teresa's for dinner tonite. I'm very excited. I finally get to meet Beloved Husband. WooHoo.

I'm making an apple pie. Yummy. Should be a fairly easy task.

Except -

I broke my rolling pin, again.
I don't have my "magic apple" thingy - cores and peels.
I can't find my pie plates.

Sometimes I feel like I stepped back in time. How DID my ancestors do it?!?!?

Ummm... does this mean no dessert?

Teresa - of course we'll have dessert. Just won't be homemade crust. It's still apple pie! And it's baking right now! Smells yummy....

Koolaid...maybe you're onto something. THAT might be part of the problem! ;-)

Tammy,

I have now bought two of those Apply cores and peels things one from Pamper Chef and one from some else. They do not work on all apples. My love loves Fuji apples and they do not work on them at any time. It makes me mad. The apples have to be firm and if they are not firm firm; it does not work. Do not waste your money. They old fashion way works on all apples all the time. It just takes work. I wish they would come up with one that works and saves time.

The apple pie sound good. Hope you have a good time. We have been looking for a place to go pick fresh apples but none seem to have fuji and I guess they are not in season yet. We did get fresh apple cedar made while we watched. One thing that is nice about fall coming. Have a great time.

I found myself without a rolling pin for my first Thanksgiving dinner at my house. I used a glass booze bottle (peach schnapps). Just rolled the heels of my hands with the bottle as it was rolling. Like making a playdough snake. I was quite proud of myself. They turned out great!
