For me - this nails it:

Take a moment and read the whole thing. It's what I've been wanting to put into words...but couldn't.

Every generation does what it has to to ensure the future generations are safe and can prosper.
Without our for fathers determination, we would never have the determination to face what we are facing today.
Strength begets strength.
So where will that leave furture generations of French and Spanish (from Spain)?
