Sacrifice

This is the most moving letter I have ever read in my life.

It is a letter from one Warrior to the many serving now in the service of our country. It talks of Father's Day - and of being so far away from those you love.

I can't find just one part to excerpt - so just go and read the entire thing. And then remember to say a prayer for those Fathers who are sacrificing so very much - especially today.

That brings bad memories. My heart hurts.

It's a lovely letter... but the openning greeting leaves me very very sad and bewildered... apparently Afghanistan isn't enough of a war zone to count? There isn't quite enough danger to them? I guess the guys who have died there didn't die in the right place to be part of the war?

I know the guys who are fighting in Afghanistan feel forgotten by the world... and for the most part I had thought this was a problem with the MSM... I am very disheartened to find out that they seem to be forgotten by the veteran who writes this piece too... I wonder how many others remember?

I guess that sounds petty in the grand scheme of things... but I ache for the fathers who are deployed to Afghanistan - giving up just as much... without being acknowledged.
