TNT at Smiling Dynamite has a story up (complete with sketches) regarding a nasty driver she had to deal with.
Then she asks for our stories!
HELLO! I'm The Road Warrior!! Every. Single. Day. some idiot pulls some stupid stunt that just blows my mind. Every. Single. Day.
I don't know where to begin. There were the girls yesterday, in the rented convertable, on their way to Bike Week in Daytona. All over the flippin' road, everyone one of them on cell phones. Cutting people off, changing lanes, flying (I was going 85 mph and we were playing leap frog.) Ended up running an elderly couple onto the shoulder. Bitches.
Then there is the time I was riding with my sister. I had loaned her my car and there was an emergency at the mill I worked at. She was a volunteer paramedic and had to respond. I figured I would just ride along since I had to go there anyway.
Bad idea.
It's snowing to beat the band. Ice. Ice. Ice. She barrels out of the lane (we lived wayyyy out in the country). I warn her that the best thing in these conditions is to go up to the main highway - side roads would not be cleared.
Oh HELL no. She knows what she's doing. She hits the overpass just past the house and it's iced over. We start spinning and hit the guard rail that prevents us from falling on to the toll road below.
LET ME DRIVE YOU IDIOT!!
She ignores me. THEN, instead of going out to the highway - she takes a left onto a country road.
SHIT
We get about 2 miles down the road and get stuck. I'm cussing the whole time. Please keep in mind, I'm in a dress (going to work). We see a plow truck up ahead and I get volunteered to go up and ask for help.
After great struggles I get the car door open. I step out. Into a snowbank that is past my waist!! I'm 6'2". That's A LOT of snow. Now I'm really pissed.
To make a long story short - the plow truck crew got us backed out of the bank and back on the road. We go to the highway - guess what! It's clear! (HA) and get to the mill just as the ambulance is pulling away. I'm soaking wet and the car looks like it's been through a war.
I gave her the car that evening. Signed it over. Lock stock and dents.
And those are only a couple that I remember right off the top of my head. Head on over to TNT's place and share your driving nightmares!!
